Here are some tips for maintaining oilcloth:
1 - Cleaning: Clean the canvas by gently rubbing the stains with a sponge (and warm water if the stains are stubborn). To remove any small bits of dirt that may get stuck between the seams, use your brush.
2 - Drying: To allow the canvas to breathe, let your bag dry for a while. In the meantime, you can start melting some wax in a bain-marie.
3 - Waxing: Once your wax is liquid, dip the end of your cloth in it. Apply a small amount of wax to the desired area, then spread it out. Repeat this process over the entire bag. Wax tends to harden quickly, so to avoid any hassle, you can use a hairdryer and run it over the area where the wax has hardened.
4 - BRUSHING: Once your bag is waxed, brush it over the entire bag. This will help spread out any wax that might get stuck around buttons and zippers.
