Leather care tips
1. Regular cleaning
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dirt and dust from the leather surface. Avoid abrasive cleaning products that could damage the material.
2. Hydration
Apply a leather care product, such as a nourishing milk or our leather conditioner , to prevent drying out and keep the leather supple. Be sure to test on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire surface.
3. Water protection
Treat your jacket with a waterproofing product designed for leather to protect it from water and stains. Reapply periodically according to the product instructions, especially if you plan to wear the garment in the rain.
4. Avoid excessive heat
Keep your leather jacket away from direct heat sources such as radiators or dryers, as this can cause damage to the leather by drying it out or distorting it.
5. Proper storage
Store your leather garment in a dry, well-ventilated place, preferably on a padded hanger to maintain its shape. Avoid leaving it in areas exposed to direct sunlight, as this may alter the color of the leather.
Suede Leather Care Tips
1. Regular brushing
Use a crepe brush or a special suede brush to remove dirt and dust particles from the surface of the leather. Brush gently in the direction of the hair to avoid damaging the delicate suede fibers.
2. Using a waterproofer
Apply a waterproofing spray specifically designed for suede leather to protect it from water and stains. Be sure to test the product on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire surface to avoid unwanted color changes.
3. Apply a stain remover
In case of stains, apply Sommières earth to the area to be cleaned. This clay will absorb the stain.
4. Avoid water and sun
Avoid prolonged exposure of your suede leather to water as this can cause stains and alter its texture. If your suede leather jacket gets wet, allow it to dry at room temperature away from any direct heat source.
5. Proper storage
Store your suede leather goods in a dry, well-ventilated area to prevent mold and mildew. Use shoe trees or tissue paper to maintain their shape and prevent wrinkles.
Oilcloth Care Tips
1. Cleaning
Clean your jacket by gently rubbing the stains with a sponge (and warm water if the stain is stubborn). To remove any small bits of dirt that may be lodged between the seams, use your brush.
2. Drying
To allow the leather to breathe, let your jacket dry for a while. In the meantime, you can start melting some wax in a double boiler.
3. Shoe polish
Once your wax is liquid, dip the end of your cloth in it. Apply a small amount of wax to the desired area, then spread it out. Repeat this process over the entire jacket. Wax tends to harden quickly, so to avoid any hassle, you can use a hairdryer and run it over the area where the wax has hardened.
4. Brushing
Once your jacket is waxed, brush it over the entire jacket. This will help spread any wax that might get stuck around buttons and zippers.
