Why? Raw selvedge denim, having undergone no treatment, still contains excess indigo on the surface. During the first wash, it is therefore normal for it to bleed slightly, especially when in contact with water. To limit this phenomenon, it is advisable to wash it separately, in cold water, before wearing it.
